Erling Haaland will not be leaving Borussia Dortmund this summer despite rumours linking him with a move to Real Madrid. While Thomas Meunier has downplayed reports claiming that he is on the verge of joining BVB.

Haaland will not leave Borussia Dortmund this summer

Erling Haaland has been surprisingly linked with a move away from Borussia Dortmund in recent weeks, with reports claiming that Real Madrid are interested in signing him this summer. However, SportBILD say that the Norwegian international will not be leaving the Westfalenstadion at the end of this season.

Haaland signed a four and a half year contract after joining Borussia Dortmund in January. Although his contract does contain a release clause, it does not come into effect this summer.

Meunier downplays BVB rumours

PSG right-back Thomas Meunier has had his say on reports heavily linking him with a move to Borussia Dortmund on a free transfer. In an Instagram Live chat with Belgian broadcaster RTBF, Meunier said:

"“I don’t understand at all (smiles). Because I’ve seen so many articles linking me to Tottenham and Inter, but the Dortmund fans are more visible. We know they’re good fans…everyone knows that my main objective is to stay in Paris. We’ll see…”“A 28-year-old player, at the end of his contract, free, international in the number one team in the world, that can’t be a bad deal, a bad buy. In terms of investment, there’s not much to lose, even if I get gangrene, have a leg cut off, you can’t lose a lot of money…”"

Reports have claimed that Meunier is on the verge of joining Borussia Dortmund, with BILD suggesting earlier this week that only his signature is missing for the transfer to go through.

Mario Götze does not want Leverkusen/Hertha moves

Mario Götze reportedly has no interest in joining Bayer Leverkusen or Hertha Berlin when his Borussia Dortmund contract expires at the end of this season. According to SportBILD, the 27 year old would prefer a move abroad, but moving to China or the United States is out of the question for him.
