Felix Passlack

Felix Passlack unfortunately is one of the most disappointing stories of the last few years for Dortmund. He broke into the squad at the same time as Christian Pulisic and had a very strong first year and a half with Borussia Dortmund. Lukasz Piszczek even dubbed him the right-back of the future for Dortmund at one point. Not long after Passlack went into a bit of a free-fall with his value and potential plummeting each year.

He is now on loan with Fortuna Sittard in the Eredivisie and has proven himself crucial to the squad, playing nearly every minute for them this season.

There is still a glimmer of hope for Passlack who is only 21 years old. Although he is a long way from where he once was with Dortmund the player who absolutely destroyed the Youth Leagues and impressed everyone so much early on is still there somewhere.

Dzenis Burnic

Dzenis Burnic rounds out the final spot on our list, currently on loan with Dynamo Dresden in the 2. Bundesliga. Burnic is a solid defensive midfield prospect but just doesn’t have the high end talent to make it with Dortmund in the long term.

He could come back and fight for a squad role this summer but he could just as easily look to make a move away to continue playing more and developing. With Borussia Dortmund looking at signing Jude Bellingham and Eduardo Camavinga, it is difficult to imagine Burnic getting too many chances.
