Uncertainty at right-back

Borussia Dortmund have an interesting summer coming up for the right-back position. Hakimi’s two year loan spell is ending and he could be on his way back to Madrid. Without Hakimi, Piszczek would need to be relied on week in, week out at right-back. Dortmund’s only other right back option is Mateu Morey and as of right now and Favre hasn’t shown any trust in the youngster.

There is also the talk of Thomas Meunier potentially being signed on a free transfer from PSG. If Hakimi can’t be signed on loan or permanently Dortmund need to sign another replacement, like Meunier to take his place.

Piszczek will likely be called upon at right-back at times next season, which is the final reason why he should sign for another year, he still has a big role.
