Full Backs: Lukasz Piszczek, Raphael Guerreiro

Lukasz Piszczek has been one of the very few constants at Borussia Dortmund over the last five years. The Pole has been a regular starter and a consistent performer at right-back, and still remains a vital part of the team, even at the age of 34.

Solid at the back and a threat going forward, few have matched Piszczek’s consistency at the club/ He has also taken on a leadership role in recent years. And although he is nearing the end of his career, no one can deny Piszczek’s importance to this team.

Raphael Guerreiro gets the nod at left back, thanks largely in part to his impressive performances over the last 18 months. The Portuguese international arrived at Borussia Dortmund after enjoying an impressive breakthrough campaign at Lorient. He was primarily used as a midfielder at the start of his Dortmund career, and has been used in a number of positions since then.

But his best performances have come playing in the left back/left wing-back role. Despite being linked with the likes of PSG and Barcelona, Guerreiro signed a new contract with Borussia Dortmund earlier this season, and has been one of the team’s most consistent performers since then.
