Signing a new right back is likely to be a priority for Borussia Dortmund in the summer transfer window. We look at five players who could fit the bill.

It looks increasingly likely that Achraf Hakimi will return to Real Madrid after the end of his two year loan spell with Borussia Dortmund. The Black and Yellows would like to sign the highly rated full-back on a permanent deal, but it’s hard to see them paying the money that will be required to sign him, especially in this climate.

Borussia Dortmund also have Lukasz Piszczek in their ranks, and the veteran right-back is now expected to sign a new one year deal. However, he will be 35 by the time next season gets underway. And as his performances since the turn of the year have proven, his future might lie on the right side of a back three.

Barcelona academy graduate Mateu Morey is another option, however he has yet to make a single first team appearance so far. A loan move away from the club might be a better option for the young Spaniard.

So the need for a new right-back is certainly there, and now we take a look at some of the options Borussia Dortmund should consider.
