Hans Hateboer

Hateboer was heavily linked with a move to Borussia Dortmund in 2018, but the Black and Yellows ended up signing Achraf Hakimi. The Dutch international has improved immensely since then, and has become a very important player for Italian side Atalanta in the last 12 months.

Much like Hakimi, Hateboer is a lethal attacking threat with devastating pace who can fly up and down the wing all day long. He is dangerous in and around the opposition box, and is also defensively solid.

Hateboer has two goals and four assists to his name this season, with his goals coming in the man of the match performance in Atalanta’s Champions League round of 16 first leg win over Valencia.

Hateboer plays as a wing-back for Atalanta, but is also more than comfortable playing in a back four. At the age of 26, Hateboer is certainly in his prime and would represent a like for like replacement for the outgoing Hakimi, at least in terms of playing style and offensive output.
