Mahmoud Dahoud

Another midfielder who could leave Borussia Dortmund this summer is Mahmoud Dahoud. The 24 year old was considered to be one of Germany’s most promising midfielders when he arrived at Dortmund in 2017. But after an encouraging debut season, he has not been able to cement his spot in Lucien Favre’s plans.

It doesn’t help that chances have been few and far between for the former Germany U21s international. Dahoud has been limited to just 11 appearances so far this season, and it is very clear that Lucien Favre does not trust him to do the job in the middle of the park, especially defensively.

While Dahoud does lack consistency, he is still one of Dortmund’s most creative central midfielders. He has great vision, and the ability to pick out defence splitting passes.

Despite his ability, Dahoud’s situation isn’t likely to change anytime soon. A move away from Dortmund would allow him to play regularly and rediscover his potential. While selling him would allow the club to sign Jude Bellingham and possibly promote someone like Tobias Raschl.
