Borussia Dortmund’s last Bundesliga title came with a German double, beating Bayern Munich for that as well. Here we will take a look at where those players are now.

Borussia Dortmund won back to back Bundesliga titles in 2010/2011 and 2011/2012 in the golden years of the Jurgen Klopp era. Those seasons were the beginning of several future Dortmund legends time with the club. Here we will take a look at the key parts of that squad and where those players are now.

Several of the starters on that squad are actually still with Borussia Dortmund. The likes of Marcel Schmelzer, Lukasz Piszczek, Mats Hummels and Mario Gotze are all current members of Borussia Dortmund. Here we will look at the other key members and where they are currently.

Shinji Kagawa

Shinji Kagawa did leave Dortmund before the 2012/2013 season but he made his return two years later to start the 2014/2015 season. Although Kagawa became a key part of the squad on his return once again, he was deemed surplus to requirements after Lucien Favre joined Borussia Dortmund. As a result, Kagawa is currently plying his trade at Real Zaragoza in the Spanish second division.

It’s very surprising that Kagawa wasn’t able to find a club in a top 5 league that could have used him, he is still a very capable attacking midfielder that could easily play for a much better team. Kagawa will always remain one of Dortmund’s biggest fan favorites.
