Reports have claimed recently that Borussia Dortmund could extend Achraf Hakimi’s loan deal by another year. We look at three reasons why it would be a good move for all three parties.

Achraf Hakimi has enjoyed a lot of success since joining Borussia Dortmund on loan two years ago. The 21 year old has developed into one of the world’s best attacking full-backs, and has seen his value skyrocket very quickly.

With his loan deal set to expire at the end of the season, Hakimi faces a big decision in the summer. A number of big clubs in Europe including PSG, Juventus and Chelsea are said to be interested in signing him. While Real Madrid are keen on bringing him back, and Borussia Dortmund want to keep him at the club as well.

While it is unlikely that the Black and Yellows will pay the amount required to sign him permanently this summer, they could yet extend his loan deal by another year. Here we look at three reasons why this move would suit all three parties.
