Achraf Hakimi gets more playing time

Achraf Hakimi is Borussia Dortmund’s first choice right wing-back and he will continue to be a regular in the starting XI if he stays at the club beyond the summer. Real Madrid already have Dani Carvajal as their first choice right-back, so Hakimi will likely spend a lot of time on the bench if he returns to his parent club in the summer.

Even if he replaces Carvajal as the first choice right-back, Hakimi will not get the opportunities or freedom to play his natural game as he does at Borussia Dortmund. The Moroccan international is comfortable in Dortmund and has developed great partnerships with his teammates.

Despite his attacking prowess, Hakimi is also still prone to defensive errors. Borussia Dortmund’s back three formation allows him to play his natural game without worrying too much about the defensive responsibilities. And another season on loan would also allow him to improve on the defensive side of his game and be a more complete full-back by the time he returns to Real Madrid.
