Michael Zorc: Borussia Dortmund “totally relaxed” about Jadon Sancho’s future

Borussia Dortmund are totally relaxed about Jadon Sancho’s future despite rumours linking him with Manchester United and Chelsea, Michael Zorc has said.
Jadon Sancho has been one of the standout players in the Bundesliga so far this season, and his performances have seen him attract the interest of some of Europe’s biggest clubs. Rumours have been rife about Sancho’s future in recent months, linking the Borussia Dortmund star with Premier League clubs Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City.
British tabloid ‘the Sun’ even claimed last week that Sancho had already agreed personal terms with Manchester United, although that report was quashed by Ruhr Nachrichten soon after.
Borussia Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc has now talked about the rumours. He says that they are totally relaxed about Sancho’s situation, and that the club’s top priority right now is to finish the current season.
"“There is no new status,” Zorc told Sport1. “Currently no club will risk anything by making a big-money move – not even in England. I can’t and don’t want to go too far out of the window with forecasts because the situation is changing daily. We will see what happens. We have a long-term contract with Jadon Sancho. This will not change now. We are totally relaxed about it.”“The most important issues that are currently occupying us are rather: What is the way forward? When do we play again? It would be of paramount importance for all of us to be able to finish the season.”"
Sancho still has over two years remaining on his Borussia Dortmund contract, so the BVB bosses are under no pressure to sell him this summer. The Black and Yellows have set an asking price of 130 million euros on Sancho, and they are reportedly willing to offer him a pay rise if he decides to stay at the club beyond the end of the season.
Manchester United, who are said to be leading the race for Sancho, are unlikely to make big money transfers this summer, CEO Ed Woodward said last week.
"“I cannot help feeling that speculation around transfers of individual players for hundreds of millions of pounds this summer seems to ignore the realities that face the sport.”"
Sancho has 17 goals and 16 assists to his name in 35 appearances in all competitions for Borussia Dortmund so far this season.
