Borussia Dortmund are being linked with Barcelona’s rising star Ansu Fati as a potential Jadon Sancho replacement should he leave this summer.

Borussia Dortmund are said to have made an enquiry for highly rated Barcelona teenager Ansu Fati, according to Diario SPORT. Fati burst onto the scene earlier this season and cemented himself in the Barca first team when they had some injury troubles.

With Greizmann not getting off to an exceptional start along with injuries to Dembele, Messi and Suarez it opened the door for Fati to get more minutes. As a result we have seen his stock skyrocket since the beginning of the season.

Sport add that Barcelona have asked for some time to decide, and would only allow him to leave on loan or a sale with a buy-back clause included. Fati has a release clause of 170 million euros in his contract, and it will rise to 400 million euros when he turns 18 in October.

In reality, any move for Fati will be tied to Jadon Sancho’s future with Borussia Dortmund. There has been lots of speculation on the young superstar, with the option of both staying and leaving being touted as the likely result. It is entirely possible Sancho could make his much anticipated return to England this summer. But the fact that he is comfortable in Dortmund combined with the significant loss of revenue for clubs this season could result in him spending another season in Germany.

Seeing Borussia Dortmund linked with Ansu Fati, another player with monstrous potential, comes as no surprise with their transfer history. He is a very exciting 17 year old that would fit into Dortmund’s team and system quite easily.
