Borussia Dortmund have been linked with several players on potential transfers and here we will look at the latest rumors surrounding Dortmund.

Although the Bundesliga is currently suspended Borussia Dortmund are still constantly being linked with players coming in and of course the rumors of players leaving as well. Most of the talk has been about Jadon Sancho and his potential departure and along with that who will be coming in to replace him. Here we will take a look at some of the other recent rumors.

Manuel Akanji & Nico Schulz free to leave

Sport Bild are reporting that Borussia Dortmund are open to the sales of both Manuel Akanji and Nico Schulz provided the right offers come in. Both players have been relegated to the bench recently and it’s not overly surprising to see their names as potential departures.

If you had told me 12 months ago that Akanji would lose his spot in the starting XI and was potentially on his way out I would have been shocked. He was rising through Dortmund’s ranks quickly and looked like he was on his way to being the backbone of the team’s defence for years to come. However, this season he has been error prone and sloppy in almost every game he has played.

Next is Nico Schulz who was just brought in this summer. Schulz got off to a very slow start with Dortmund, not overly surprising as he was playing left-back in a back four, when he is much more suited for a wing-back role.

Not the strongest out and out defender, he lost Favre’s trust early on and when Dortmund finally switched to a back five, the damage was seemingly done and he never really got a chance. It would be surprising to see Schulz go after only one year, and potentially not even a full year with all the ability he possesses.

Matias Zaracho linked with BVB move

On the other end of things Borussia Dortmund are reportedly in talks with Racing Club to land the signature of 22 year old Matias Zaracho. Zaracho is an Argentinian attacking midfielder currently playing in the Superliga. He is now being added to the growing list of potential Sancho replacements should the Englishman be on his way out this summer.

Todofichajes.com is reporting that Dortmund have already tabled a €20 million bid to try and secure Zaracho before his price potentially increases with the likes of United and Milan similarly interested.
