Defence: Lukasz Piszczek, Mats Hummels, Manuel Akanji

Lukasz Piszczek is once again set to line up on the right side of Borussia Dortmund’s defence. The veteran Pole, who is expected to sign a new contract with the club, has been a consistent performer since switching to this role, offering some much needed defensive security to the side.

Mats Hummels will again be lining up in the middle of Dortmund’s back three. Hummels has been one of Borussia Dortmund’s best players so far this season, and will be looking to ping more of his trademark quarterback passes to the likes of Haaland and Sancho.

Joining Piszczek and Hummels in the defence will be Manuel Akanji. The Swiss international was dropped to the bench in early February after a string of poor performances. But he will be aiming to take advantage of Dan Axel Zagadou’s injury to reclaim his spot in the team.
