Achraf Hakimi (7.5/10)

Hakimi’s pace and explosive runs made him a big threat down the right wing. He delivered a couple of excellent crosses in the first half, causing a lot of problems to the Schalke defence. He was also solid and assured defensively, keeping Harit quiet.

Raphael Guerreiro (9/10)

Guerreiro was the star of the show for Borussia Dortmund, scoring two well taken goals to help his side earn a big win. The finish for his second goal was especially exquisite. The Portuguese international also contributed enormously defensively, and never shied away from making forward runs. A top performance by Borussia Dortmund’s most underrated player.

Thomas Delaney (6.5/10)

Making his return after a long layoff, Delaney put in a typical fighting shift, as he controlled the midfield for Borussia Dortmund. The Dane won the majority of the duels and ensured that Schalke weren’t able to hurt Dortmund, before going off in the 68th minute.

Mahmoud Dahoud (7/10)

Another player who returned to the line-up for the first time in a while, Dahoud did not do much wrong and played some very encouraging forward passes. He added some finesse and creativity to Dortmund’s midfield, and also performed his defensive duties really well. If he can just add a bit more consistency to his game, Dahoud can still revive his Dortmund career.
