The Bundesliga became the first major sports league in the world to return to action this past weekend, and it was certainly a surreal experience for players, coaches and fans alike.

Having no fans certainly made for an eerie atmosphere across the usually packed Bundesliga stadiums, but title chasers Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich did not let the conditions affect them too much, as they got off to winning starts, making light work of Schalke 04 and Union Berlin respectively.

RB Leipzig weren’t as quick off the blocks, as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Freiburg at home. Borussia Mönchengladbach pipped Leipzig into third place with a comfortable 3-1 win over Frankfurt.

Elsewhere, there were wins for Hertha Berlin and Wolfsburg, as the situation did not stop the quality players across the league from showing just how good they are.

Here we look at six players who starred for their respective teams this weekend, with only one player per game included in the list.
