Kevin Mbabu

FC Augsburg 1-2 VFL Wolfsburg

Last but not the least, Kevin Mbabu was Wolfsburg’s star of the show as they left it late to clinch all three points away to Augsburg. The Swiss right back made all the difference with his slaloming run, as he glided past Augsburg defenders before delivering an excellent cross for Daniel Ginczek, to tap home and make it 2-1 in favour of the Wolves.

The 25 year old was a threat all game, causing Augsburg all sorts of problems with his forward runs from right-back. He proved to be just as difficult to beat defensively, as he made four tackles, four clearances, one interception, and won 14 of his 18 duels.

His performance was certainly crucial to Wolfsburg’s win, as Oliver Glasner’s side made it seven games without a defeat, ahead of next weekend’s home game against Borussia Dortmund.
