Wolfsburg showed their mettle as they managed to sneak a late winner away at Augsburg as the Bundesliga got back underway last weekend. Goals from Renato Steffen and Daniel Ginczek were enough to grab all three points for Oliver Glasner’s side, although it could have been a different story if VAR had not ruled out a second Augsburg goal earlier in the game.
That win for the away side kept them in 6th place and in the final European spot in the Bundesliga standings, two points clear of SC Freiburg. Die Wolfe have a chance to keep the gap on Freiburg and potentially extend it but face a tough task as they face a Dortmund side in good form this weekend.

Borussia Dortmund come into this game on the back of a 4-0 win over Ruhr rivals Schalke 04 in a dominant display. Goals from Erling Haaland, Thorgan Hazard and two from Raphael Guerreiro secured the win for the Black and Yellows last weekend, and they will be hoping for a similar display when they travel to Wolfsburg on Saturday.
The gap between Dortmund and Bayern is currently four points and Die Schwarzgelben will be hoping that gap can be closed before they meet Bayern Munich on Tuesday night. The away side will be looking to make it six wins on the bounce in the Bundesliga when they come away from the Volkswagen Arena.
