Players to Watch

Wolfsburg have numerous threats in their team, one of which is Wout Weghorst. The big Dutchman has netted 11 times in 24 games this season and is the club’s top goalscorer this term. Weghorst has been vital so far in their challenge for European football and Dortmund will have to be wary of his threat in front of goal, as well as his ability to link play.

Another player to watch for Wolfsburg is Josip Brekalo, the exciting young Croatian winger has been in and out of the side this season with 13 starts to his name and nine appearances off of the bench. But when he has played, he has been sensational.

The winger has three goals and four assists this season and Wolfsburg look more of a threat when he is playing, using his mixture of balance and agility to glide past opposition defenders, he will need to be watched closely.

For Borussia Dortmund, there are numerous threats, the main being through Jadon Sancho, the winger has 14 goals and 15 assists and after having a rest for 80 minutes against Schalke, the Englishman will be raring to go again to help his side push towards the title.

Another player to watch for Dortmund is Raphael Guerreiro, the wing back has become one of the team’s main threats down the left-hand side and his two goals against Schalke will only instil more confidence in the 26-year-old. His overlapping runs have caused problems all season for opposition defences and with seven goals and two assists to his name, including a goal against Wolfsburg last time, he will be looking to build on this at the Volkswagen Arena.
