Back three: Lukasz Piszczek, Mats Hummels, Manuel Akanji

Borussia Dortmund’s back three fared rather well on Tuesday, despite the result. Lukasz Piszczek and Mats Hummels were two of Der BVB’s best performers, as they kept Robert Lewandowski quiet in a spirited display.

Manuel Akanji has done a decent job of filling in for the injured Dan Axel Zagadou, despite looking a bit shaky at times. He too will keep his spot in the starting XI on Sunday.

Ideally, a game like this would present the perfect opportunity for Lucien Favre to rest his key defenders, and give someone like Leonardo Balerdi a chance. But with the amount of pressure he is in, he is going with the same back three.
