Achraf Hakimi (7.5/10)

Hakimi had to do a lot of defending in the first half, but got more chances to go forward as the game went on. His passing was off more often than not in the first half. And when he did find the perfect pass, Julian Brandt skied what was a golden chance on the verge of half time. He was much more lively after the break, and nearly scored just minutes before Hazard’s opener.

Hakimi finally got his goal five minutes from time, capping off an impressive display from right wing back.

Emre Can (6.5/10)

Can put in another committed performance in the middle of the park, and was always looking to make things happen. He struggled a bit early on, but did really well to prepare Hazard’s opener. He was unlucky that the referee gave a penalty when he handled the ball, as his hand was very close to his chest, and it was actually a really good block to a goal bound effort.

Thomas Delaney (6/10)

Delaney put in a typically solid defensive display, and did a good job of protecting the back three in the first half. However, his lack of creativity in the middle of the park was more visible today, as Dortmund struggled to create an opening in the first half. The team looked much more dangerous in attack after he was replaced by Axel Witsel in the 68th minute.

Raphael Guerreiro (6.5/10)

Guerreiro came close to scoring in the first half, and was always looking to get involved in the team’s attacking play. He curled in an excellent pass into the path of Thorgan Hazard before Sancho’s second goal. The Portuguese international was then replaced by Marcel Schmelzer with just over ten minutes to go.
