Back three: Lukasz Piszczek, Emre Can, Manuel Akanji

With Mats Hummels suspended, Lucien Favre will have to make a change to his back three. While Leonardo Balerdi would be the obvious candidate to replace Hummels, it is more likely that Favre will go with January signing Emre Can to slot into the middle of the back three. Can is more than capable of filling in at centre-back, just as he did in the second half of the win over Wolfsburg.

Lukasz Piszczek has been in excellent form since the turn of the year, and he will captain the side once again in the absence of the injured Marco Reus.

Manuel Akanji will likely be the only natural centre-back in Borussia Dortmund’s back three on Saturday, and he will have to be at his best against the likes of Javairô DilrosunKrzysztof Piatek and Dodi Lukebakio.
