Lukasz Piszczek (7/10)

Piszczek was once again solid in defence, and was hardly troubled by the Hertha Berlin forwards. He was also heavily involved in the team’s build-up play, completing 95.2% of his passes.

Emre Can (9/10)

Impenetrable defensively and match-winner going forward. Is there anything Emre Can cannot do? The January signing slotted into the back three today, with Mats Hummels out suspended. And he ensured that the absence of the influential defender wasn’t felt, putting on a dominant defensively display, showing great commitment and fight.

He made a total of three interceptions and seven clearances in a commanding defensive performances, and also found the bottom corner of the net with a fantastic first time finish from the edge of the box in the second half.

Manuel Akanji (7.5/10)

Akanji hardly put a foot wrong today, showing great maturity and reliability. He did his job really well, keeping the in-form Ibisevic quiet. The Swiss international won 86% of his duels, and also played the ball out from the back really well.
