Julian Brandt (5.5/10)

The assist masked what was a pretty ordinary performance from Julian Brandt. He looked lacklustre and wasteful at times, failing to find teammates despite getting into some fantastic positions, especially in the counter attack. A case could be made that he was played too high up the pitch today, but a player of Brandt’s quality should be doing better with the chances he had today.

Jadon Sancho (6.5/10)

On another day, Sancho could have easily scored a brace. He had two excellent chances to score in the second half, and should have buried them with relative ease. But some of his dribbling and build-up play was breathtaking to watch, as he left the Hertha Berlin defenders dizzy time and time again. Sancho also played the most important pass before Can’s goal, finding Brandt’s head with a perfectly weighted lobbed ball.

Thorgan Hazard (6/10)

Hazard had Borussia Dortmund’s best chance of the first half, but couldn’t find the target with his shot. He did not stop running all game, and put in another hard-working shift for the team. Although his final touch/pass wasn’t always accurate, he set up Sancho with a glorious chance in the second half.
