Borussia Dortmund left it very late as they needed Erling Haaland’s 95th minute header to help them beat Fortuna Düsseldorf 1-0.

After being frustrated by poor finishing and excellent defending in the first half, Borussia Dortmund thought they had taken the lead through Raphael Guerreiro in the 66th minute. But VAR had other plans, and the goal was chalked off for handball, despite replays showing that the ball had clearly struck his shoulder.

Fortuna Düsseldorf nearly took advantage of the Black and Yellows’ frustration, as Steven Skrzybski hit the woodwork twice after coming on from the bench.

But just when it looked like the two teams would have to settle for a draw, Erling Haaland called game with a world-class header to break Fortuna Düsseldorf’s hearts, and keep Borussia Dortmund’s impressive run since the turn of the year intact.

Here are the player ratings from Borussia Dortmund 1-0 win over Fortuna Düsseldorf.

Roman Bürki (6/10)

Bürki was a spectator for the majority of the first half, but was much busier after the break, as Fortuna Düsseldorf showed more intent. He made three decent saves, and was lucky that the post was there to prevent Skrzybski from scoring twice.
