Borussia Dortmund travel to Düsseldorf on match day 31 in fine form looking to add another 3 points and take another step towards securing Champions League football.

Borussia Dortmund have a tough away game against Fortuna Düsseldorf on Saturday on the back of their win against Hertha Berlin. Dortmund have been in exceptional form since the Bundesliga restart, with 4 wins in 5 games and the lone slip up coming against Bayern Munich.

Although Düsseldorf are currently in a relegation spot they can’t be taken lightly. Their stout defensive structure can keep them in the game long enough to make Dortmund worry if they don’t score early.

Dortmund are in a great position heading into the weekend and should have their Champions League spot in next season wrapped up shortly. Currently 7 points ahead of 5th place with four games left, Dortmund only need to win two of their final four games in order to secure their spot.

Dortmund still have several key players out through injury, with Marco Reus not yet ready to make his comeback regardless of rejoining training this week. On top of that, Dan-Axel Zagadou and Mahmoud Dahoud will also be missing as they have been ruled out for the remainder of the season.

In more positive news, Dortmund will receive a big boost with Erling Haaland rejoining the squad, although it is more likely we see him off the bench than in the starting lineup.

Düsseldorf have only won one of their five games since the Bundesliga restart but outside of a thrashing to Bayern Munich, they have actually played pretty well. They have only conceded 5 goals in the 4 games outside of the loss to Bayern. The last time these two teams met, Dortmund came out comprehensively on top, but nothing can be taken for granted at this point in the season.
