Borussia Dortmund are being linked with a move for highly rated defender Tanguy Kouassi, who is set to leave PSG on a free transfer in the summer.

Multiple outlets in France reported over the weekend that Tanguy Kouassi will be leaving Paris St. Germain on a free transfer when his contract expires in the summer. The reports also confirmed that he will not be joining RB Leipzig or AC Milan, the two clubs who have been heavily linked with a move for his signature.

According to Le10 Sport, there is a strong possibility of the defender moving to Germany this season. They claim that Borussia Dortmund have been very interested in Kouassi for months, and are better positioned to sign him, despite interest from elsewhere, including Bayern Munich. Meanwhile, Calciomercato claim that Borussia Dortmund have offered the 18 year old a five year contract worth 10 million euros.

Kouassi is considered to be one of the most talented young central defenders in Europe, and was enjoying an impressive breakthrough campaign with Paris St. Germain before the Ligue 1 was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The France U18s international has made a total of 13 appearances for PSG so far, including a late cameo off the bench in their Champions League tie against Borussia Dortmund. He has been used both as a centre-back and as a holding midfielder by Thomas Tuchel.

The Black and Yellows already have four centre backs in their ranks, while Emre Can and Lukasz Piszczek have also been used in the back three. But signing Kouassi on a free transfer may well be a deal too good to turn down.
