Lukasz Piszczek (6.5/10)

After a night to forget against Mainz, Piszczek put in a solid shift today and kept everything tight on his end. He made a few important clearances and dealt with everything that Leipzig threw at him despite struggling with a thigh issue.

Mats Hummels (9/10)

Hummels was rock solid and did not put a foot wrong as he led the way for his side both defensively and offensively. He made several crucial tackles and interceptions, keeping the dangerous Timo Werner and Patrick Schick at bay.

Hummels was also afforded way too much space and time on the ball by Leipzig, and he took full advantage to showcase his world class ball playing ability. He did really well to beat four Leipzig defenders before finding Julian Brandt in the build-up to Borussia Dortmund’s opener.

Emre Can (7/10)

Can put in another strong showing, making a number of crucial ball recoveries for his side. He was always looking to get forward and help out in the attacking play, but did not shirk any of his defensive responsibilities either. He will be disappointed to have received a yellow card, however, which means that he will now miss next weekend’s game against Hoffenheim.
