Mateu Morey (6.5/10)

Making his first start for Borussia Dortmund, Morey looked confident and full of energy right from the get go. The Spaniard showed glimpses of his excellent vision, and never stopped running in the 77 minutes he spent on the pitch. He probably should have marked his full debut with a goal, but he failed to find the target after being played in on goal by Haaland.

Morey was also largely solid defensively, and will hopefully get more chances to start next season.

Axel Witsel (6.5/10)

Witsel set the tone in the middle of the park for Borussia Dortmund, and looked much better than he has in recent games. He was lucky to avoid any serious injury from Patrick Schick’s challenge in the first half. He protected the defence with great robustness, and once again completed 95% of his passes.

Julian Brandt (7.5/10)

Brandt did really well to delay his pass and pick out Reyna for the opener, and then drilled in a low cross for Erling Haaland to seal the win in stoppage time. He also helped out defensively, winning a game high 16 duels for his side, and covered the most distance on the pitch (12.2 km). His impressive vision and creativity were on show today in what was a much improved performance by the German international.

Raphael Guerreiro (7/10)

Guerreiro created a number of decent chances for his teammates, and came close to scoring in the first half with his free-kick. He made a lot of intelligent forward runs, and put in a hard working shift for his side.
