After 33 thrilling match-days, we are approaching the end of the 2019/20 Bundesliga season. But there is still plenty to play for.

While Bayern Munich have already wrapped up the title, and Borussia Dortmund have secured a second place finish, the battle to qualify for the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa League will go down to the final day of the season. The relegation rat race, as well as the race for promotion to the Bundesliga will also be decided this weekend. Here we look at the final day permutations in the Bundesliga and the 2.Bundesliga.

Battle for Champions League football

3. RB Leipzig – 63 points, +43 GD
4. Borussia Mönchengladbach – 62 points, +25 GD
5. Bayer Leverkusen – 60 points, +16 GD

Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund have already qualified for next season’s UEFA Champions League. But it still remains to be seen who will be joining them. RB Leipzig are currently third, with a three point lead over fifth placed Bayer Leverkusen, but their vastly superior goal difference means that even a defeat to Augsburg on the final day of the season will not affect their chances of finishing in the top four, unless Kai Havertz and co. somehow hit 27 goals past Mainz.

Borussia Mönchengladbach lost their Champions League spot to Bayer Leverkusen on the final day of last season. And they will be hoping that history does not repeat itself on Saturday. The Foals go into their home game against Hertha Berlin with a two point lead over Peter Bosz’ side, who host Mainz on the final matchday. Gladbach’s superior goal difference means that a point will likely be enough to secure a return to Champions League football.
