Thomas Meunier will join Borussia Dortmund on a free transfer, after signing a four year deal with the club, reports in Germany say.

According to Sky Germany, Thomas Meunier was in Dortmund on Friday to sign his contract with Borussia Dortmund. BILD claim that the Paris St. Germain right back has signed a four year deal ahead of his free transfer. The announcement is expected to be made in the coming days

Meunier had offers from a number of big clubs in Europe, including Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal, Napoli and Valencia. But the prospect of playing at the Signal Iduna Park, and teaming up with fellow Belgium internationals Axel Witsel and Thorgan Hazard tempted Meunier to decide on a move to Borussia Dortmund.

Meunier has also informed PSG that he will not be extending his contract to play for them in the UEFA Champions League, which resumes in late August. The French champions returned to training today, but the right-back has been staying fit in Belgium.

The 28 year old will leave PSG on the back of a four year spell, which saw him make 128 appearances in all competitions. He scored 13 goals and provided 21 assists for the French giants.

Despite being on the verge of signing Meunier, Borussia Dortmund are still hopeful of extending Achraf Hakimi’s loan deal. The Real Madrid loanee is expected to return to Spain after the end of the season, but the Black and Yellows would like to bring him back for another year, according to Ruhr Nachrichten.
