After a lot of speculation, it has finally been confirmed Thomas Meunier will join Borussia Dortmund on a free transfer this summer.

Meunier has put pen to paper on a four year deal with Borussia Dortmund, signing on a free transfer from Paris St. Germain. The Belgian international becomes the Black and Yellows’ first summer signing, and will wear the shirt number 24

Borussia Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc was delighted to have secured Meunier’s signing, saying “Thomas Meunier is a player who has proven his quality at the highest level, among other things in the Champions League and in the national team, over a long period of time and will give us a real boost with his experience.”

Meunier explained his decision to choose Borussia Dortmund as his next destination, despite attracting interest from a number of other clubs.

"“Borussia Dortmund play exactly the type of football I want to play: exciting, authentic and natural,” Meunier said. “BVB are known for their enthusiastic fans, and the atmosphere during the match with Paris at the Signal Iduna Park influenced my decision if I’m honest. I am ambitious and I want to win titles with Dortmund, as I have done in Brugge and Paris.”"

He will, of course, see some friendly faces in the dressing room, with Belgian international teammates Axel Witsel and Thorgan Hazard already with Borussia Dortmund.

Let’s take a look at his career so far, and what he could bring to the team next season.
