Lukasz Piszczek (4/10)

Piszczek had arguably his worst game of the season today. He played Kramaric onside for Hoffenheim’s second goal, before losing sight of the Croatian striker and being caught out of position for the third.

Mats Hummels (5/10)

Hummels wasn’t at his best today, but still did a much better job compared to Borussia Dortmund’s other defenders. He made some important tackles and clearances to prevent things from getting worse for his team, but was harshly adjudged to have fouled Munas Dabbur for the penalty in the second half.

Leonardo Balerdi (3.5/10)

Making his first start for Borussia Dortmund, Balerdi had a game to forget today. He looked nervous right from the start, and that resulted in some sloppy and weak play from him. He had a nightmarish first half, and was too slow to react for the opener in the build-up to Hoffenheim’s opener.

Things did not get any better for the young defender, as he was beaten far too easily before the third goal as well. He lost all nine of his duels as well, and honestly just looked out of his depth.
