Mateu Morey (5/10)

Morey wasn’t as effective as he was against Leipzig, but still put in a hard working shift for the team. He made some strong forward runs, but found it difficult to make much of an impact. After the break, he briefly played on the left before returning to the right-back role after Nico Schulz’ introduction.

Axel Witsel (4.5/10)

Witsel spent a lot of time chasing bodies, and simply could not get the game under his control. He often left large gaps in midfield, and lost the ball way too easily at times in what was a very uncharacteristic display from the Belgian international.

Julian Brandt (4.5/10)

Brandt struggled to offer any creativity to Borussia Dortmund’s attacking play. He had a few decent moments, but overall it was another flawed display by the German international, who had way too many turnovers, and lost possession 19 times. He really needs to work on adding more consistency to his game ahead of next season.

Raphael Guerreiro (4.5/10)

Guerreiro had a tough time as Hoffenheim enjoyed a lot of success down his flank. The Portuguese international wasn’t directly responsible for any of the goals conceded, but he lacked the consistency and security that he usually offers. He was replaced by Achraf Hakimi at half time.
