Borussia Dortmund suffer biggest home loss since 2009

Borussia Dortmund suffered their biggest home loss in this game since September of 2009 when they lost 5-1 to Bayern Munich.

That’s over a decade since a loss that big which is very impressive. Dortmund have spent years turning the Westfalenstadion into a fortress for home games. That is evident when you have to go back over 10 years to find a bigger defeat.

As impressive as it is, it’s a bit disappointing they played so poorly that it resulted in such a significant defeat. The good news in the defeat is that as the last game of the season it isn’t going to impact Dortmund’s mentality or confidence in the next games.

As a meaningless game it’s easy to move past it but regardless as a fan you hope your team shows up week in week out. Hopefully, we will see that next season.
