Borussia Dortmund had a decent Bundesliga season in 2019/20, finishing as runners up with 69 points in 34 games.

Borussia Dortmund did finish second to Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga this season but it was still a season that saw a lot of progress being made. Not only did they secure UEFA Champions League qualification for the 2020/21 season but they also set a club record in terms of goals, finding the net 84 times in the Bundesliga alone.

There were certainly more positives than negatives, as Lucien Favre’s men showed that they are capable of fighting for the title, despite the rather poor end to the season.

The change in formation in November to a back three sparked an upturn in form, giving more attacking freedom to the talented wing-backs, and more defensive responsibility to the midfielders. Due to a number of injuries in the middle of the park, we saw Lucien Favre try out a number fo different combinations.

Here we rate the performances of the Borussia Dortmund wing-backs and midfielders.
