Gio Reyna (6.5/10)

Gio Reyna joined up with the Borussia Dortmund first team in January this year and instantly gained the trust of Lucien Favre. Reyna only had two starts this season, but to underline how much Favre trusted him, he featured in every single game he was fit except for one. That is a massive step forward for a player who wasn’t really on the first team radar to start the season.

Reyna scored an absolute screamer against Bremen in the cup that highlighted his dribbling ability. Next season will be a big one for Reyna as he will not only have a full year but with Favre staying he will have complete trust of the coach for that full season.

Mario Götze (5/10)

Mario Götze had a tough final season with Borussia Dortmund as he was barely used, a big fall from his starring role in the second half of last season. Götze only started 6 times this season, making 15 appearances in total.

He just completely fell out of favour with Lucien Favre over the course of the season and he was left with no choice but to leave the club.

Götze has without question lost almost all of his previous explosiveness and speed, but he is still one of the smartest and most technically gifted players Dortmund have. He just unfortunately isn’t at a high enough level to get consistent game time at a club like Dortmund. Hopefully he goes to a club that allows him to shine.
