Borussia Dortmund transfer rumours: No purchase clause in Balerdi loan, Delaney set to stay
By Tushar Bahl
Borussia Dortmund have completed the majority of their transfer business following the arrival of Jude Bellingham. But rumours are rife about potential outgoings.
Here we take a look at some of the latest transfer rumours involving Borussia Dortmund.
No purchase clause in Balerdi loan deal?
Borussia Dortmund are planning to send Leonardo Balerdi out on loan this summer, but do not want a purchase option in any potential deal. Olympique Marseille are heavily interested in signing the defender on a season long loan deal with an option to buy at the end of the season. But according to Kicker, Michael Zorc only wants the defender to go on loan in order for him to gain playing experience.
Balerdi has been limited to just eight appearances since his move to Borussia Dortmund in January 2018, with his only start coming on the final day of last season.
Thomas Delaney set for BVB stay
Kicker also report that Borussia Dortmund have no plans to let Thomas Delaney depart this summer, as the Danish international is still highly valued at the club. The midfielder endured an injury-laden campaign last season, and it was thought that his future could be thrown into doubt following the arrival of Jude Bellingham. But Delaney’s future is not up for discussion, and he will be part of the team next season.
One player who could leave though, is Mahmoud Dahoud. The 24 year old wants to stay and fight for his place at Borussia Dortmund. But it remains to be seen if he is still part of the team’s plans for next season.
