Things to improve on for next season

There is certainly a lot of room for improvement going into next season. Borussia Dortmund are just about done with their transfer business, unless Jadon Sancho leaves in the coming weeks. So Lucien Favre knows what the majority of his squad will look like. And with very few incomings and outgoings, the continuity should really help him.

Next season’s tight schedule means that games will come very thick and fast, which means that Borussia Dortmund will be playing two games almost every week. So Favre will need to manage his squad, and ensure that he does not forget about rotation until players start getting injuries.

Borussia Dortmund often seem to be lacking a plan B, especially in games where the opposition teams defend deep and do not give them any space to play through. So Lucien Favre needs to work out a plan to counter that in order to ensure that Dortmund do not drop too many points against teams in the bottom half of the table.

In order to consistently get the best out of his players, Favre must do a better job of motivating them and getting them to turn up for every game. Over the last two years, Dortmund have been lacklustre in many games against some of the bottom teams in the Bundesliga. And Favre needs to fix that ahead of next season.

Oh, and Lucien, please don’t ever play Julian Brandt as a striker again.
