The fixture list for the new Bundesliga season has been released and Borussia Dortmund will go up against Borussia Mönchengladbach on Matchday 01.
The 2020/21 Bundesliga season is set to get underway on September 18, and Borussia Dortmund will begin their title charge at the Signal Iduna Park against Borussia Mönchengladbach. Lucien Favre’s side enjoyed victories in all three of their games against the Foals last season, and they will be aiming to keep that run going when the two teams meet on the first matchday of the new season.
After their game against Gladbach, Der BVB face a trip to Augsburg, before they take on SC Freiburg at home on Matchday 03. Those two fixtures will be sandwiched by the DFL Supercup clash between Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich on September 30.
The first Revierderby of the new season will take place at the Signal Iduna Park on Matchday 05 (October 23-26), and the reverse fixture will be held on Matchday 22 (February 19-22). Borussia Dortmund host Bayern Munich on Matchday 07 (November 06-08), and the second Der Klassiker of the season is scheduled for Matchday 24 (March 05-08).
The first game of the new calendar year will see Borussia Dortmund go up against VFL Wolfsburg on January 02-04, 2021. The Black and Yellows will end their season on May 22, 2021 with a tough game at home to Bayer Leverkusen.
With mid-week games scheduled for almost every week and no winter break, this season promises to be one like no other. Borussia Dortmund have strengthened their squad with the signings of Thomas Meunier and Jude Bellingham, and fans will be hoping to see them challenge Bayern Munich for the league title once again this season.
