Borussia Dortmund have quite the big squad with several players returning from loan and Zorc will be looking to offload some who likely don’t have a long term future with the club.

Borussia Dortmund fans anxiously wait news about Jadon Sancho’s future with the club, but in the meantime Zorc is working behind the scenes to determine the future of three players coming back from loan that likely don’t have a spot with the club. Marius Wolf, Sergio Gomez and Felix Passlack’s futures are all up in the air. Here we will take a look at the latest on the three of them.

Marius Wolf

Marius Wolf is definitely the most likely on this list to make it back into the Dortmund first team, although that still remains a long shot. He doesn’t have much of a chance in attack with the likes of Marco Reus, Jadon Sancho, Julian Brandt, Thorgan Hazard, Gio Reyna and even potentially Raphael Guerreiro ahead of him in the pecking order. Wolf’s chance will be at the right-back position or even more so if Favre stays playing with wing-backs.

At wing-back Wolf’s biggest competition would be Thomas Meunier and even Mateu Morey is likely ahead of him on the depth chart. Wolf wouldn’t have much use in a straight right-back role, but he could have potential to be effective as a wing-back. Regardless, Wolf is still most likely to leave the club this summer, with the transfer window staying open until October. Hertha Berlin did pass on the €20 million purchase option included in the loan but Ruhr Nachrichten claim that they definitely still have interest in the player, just at a reduced price.
