October 24th, 2020 – Home vs Schalke

At this point Borussia Dortmund are miles ahead of where Schalke are competitively and that gap is likely going to continue to grow with Schalke in trouble financially. Regardless of those outside circumstances, there aren’t going to be any teams rolling over in the Ruhr Derby, regardless of where they are at in the standings. That only puts all the more pressure on Dortmund in this fixture as this is a game they are expected to win.

At home, against a weaker side, combined with it being the derby, this is a must win game for Borussia Dortmund fans. A loss or even a draw against Schalke are a lot harder to swallow than just the dropped points. This is a pretty early game in Dortmund’s season and it comes after a Champions League game as well. They will be looking to stamp their dominance early on in Schalke’s campaign.
