Jadon Sancho wants to guide and help the new crop of ‘special young players’ who are being introduced to the Borussia Dortmund first team.

Sancho returned to action earlier today, as he played 45 minutes in Borussia Dortmund’s 6-0 win over Austrian side SC Altach. Although the England international did not score, he caused the Altach defenders quite a few problems and had a goal ruled out for offside.

After the first half, the 20 year old raved about his team. He spoke to BVB.TV about his excitement at playing with the next crop of young players who are coming up at Borussia Dortmund. The winger added that he is looking forward to guiding and leading the talented youngsters by taking on a senior role in the team.

"“I love playing with this lot. It is a special bunch,” Sancho said (H/T: Stefan Buczko). We’ve got some special young players coming up. I am really happy to share the pitch with them and guide them. I was once in their shoes, playing with the seniors. I am happy for them.”“I joined when I was 17. Some of the lads are the same age. I’ve been there and done that. I can guide them in what’s good and what isn’t. I can hopefully motivate them as well.”"

Sancho was heavily linked with a move away from Manchester United, but will now be staying with Borussia Dortmund, after the Premier League side failed to meet the asking price before the deadline on August 10.

One of the many talented youngsters in the Borussia Dortmund squad is Jude Bellingham, who arrived from English side Birmingham City this summer. The 17 year old played a starring role in his first appearance for the Black and Yellows, as he was involved in two of the three first half goals. After the game, the midfielder spoke about his debut and said that he is really happy to be at his new club.

"“I loved every minute of it. It was great to familiarise myself with the boys and finally have some competition in black and yellow. I’m buzzing. We got some goals, had some fun. I really enjoyed it. I’m confident in my ability but the boys made it so easy for me. They were outstanding at times and we played some really good stuff even though it’s our first game back. I’m really happy to be part of this team.”"
