Borussia Dortmund will be without Dan Axel Zagadou for the rest of the training camp, but Mats Hummels is back in team training.

Borussia Dortmund announced earlier today that Dan Axel Zagadou has a knee injury, and will not be taking any further part in their Bad Ragaz training camp. The Frenchman will also miss Sunday’s pre-season friendly against Peter Stöger’s Austria Wien side. Zagadou will now undergo examinations to investigate the exact nature of the injury. However, he is currently not expected to be out for a long time.

Erling Haaland, who scored two goals in Wednesday’s friendly against SC Altach, also missed training today with a sore throat. But the expectation is that the striker will be back in action tomorrow.

It’s not all bad news however, as Mats Hummels returned to team training after spending the first half of the camp training individually. The 31 year old had been nursing an ankle injury which he suffered while on vacation. It is very unlikely that he will be match fit and ready to take on Austria Wien on Sunday though.

Borussia Dortmund are already without Marco Reus and Marcel Schmelzer, who are both out with long term injuries and did not travel to Bad Ragaz with the rest of the team.

Meanwhile, Austria Wien announced on Wednesday that a second person at their club has tested positive for COVID-19, despite showing no symptoms. Last week, the Austrian side had announced their first positive case. However, a connection between the two cases has been ruled out.

Ruhr Nachrichten report that Sunday’s friendly is not at risk of being canceled at the moment. Although the situation could change if there are more positive results in the next round of testing.
