Borussia Dortmund will go up against Austrian side Austria Wien on Sunday as they continue their preparations for the start of the new season.

Borussia Dortmund enjoyed a dominant 6-0 win over SC Altach earlier this week. And they will return to the Cashpoint Arena for Sunday’s clash against Austria Wien. The 24-time Austrian Bundesliga winners are coached by former Borussia Dortmund head coach Peter Stöger, and finished seventh in the league last season.

Just like we saw on Wednesday, Lucien Favre will likely make a lot of changes as he looks to get his players to match-fitness ahead of the start of the new season. Jadon Sancho, Thomas Delaney and Mahmoud Dahoud all trained individually on Saturday, so it remains to been seen if they are fit enough to feature. Dan Axel Zagadou (knee) and Mats Hummels (training deficit) are set to miss to miss the game as well, along with long-term absentees Marco Reus and Marcel Schmelzer.

With so many injuries at centre-back, it is likely that Lucien Favre will stick with the back four formation he used in the mid-week game.

Erling Haaland will be aiming to continue his impressive form, after he found the net twice against SC Altach. Jude Bellingham and Thomas Meunier will both make their second appearance in a Dortmund shirt. A number of youngsters will also be looking to get some game time and impress the decision makers ahead of the new season.
