Borussia Dortmund have completed the signing of Real Madrid youngster Reinier Jesus on a two year loan deal.

Reinier becomes Borussia Dortmund’s third signing of the summer transfer window, and will provide the team with some much needed depth in attack for the next two years. The Black and Yellows do not have the option to making his signing permanent. Michael Zorc believes that Reinier is an outstanding talent, who can be a versatile option in attack for Lucien Favre’s side.

"“Reinier is a player who has enormous talent and can be used in various positions in attack,” Zorc said. “We have been watching the boy for more than two years now, and he has outstanding technical skills as well as good physical strength.”"

Reinier joined Real Madrid from Brazilian side Flamengo in the January transfer window for a fee of 30 million euros. He has yet to make his first team debut for the La Liga champions, but is considered to be one of their best young prospects. Now he will follow in the path of Achraf Hakimi, who also left Real Madrid to join Borussia Dortmund on a two year loan deal in 2018.

"Reinier said: “I’m happy that I’m now at BVB. The club is known for its focus on young players and improving them. I would like to learn a lot and play a lot here, help the team and be successful. I hope that we’ll experience many happy moments together.”"

Reinier’s best position is said to be in the number ten role behind the striker, but he is also capable of playing on the wing, and as a false nine. He is likely to replace Mario Götze in the Borussia Dortmund squad, and will serve as a back-up option to Marco Reus.
