Sebastian Kehl: Jadon Sancho very happy to stay at Borussia Dortmund

Sebastian Kehl has reiterated that Jadon Sancho will be staying on at Borussia Dortmund for at least another season.
Jadon Sancho’s future has dominated headlines all summer, with rumours heavily linking him with a move to Manchester United. Borussia Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc announced earlier this month that Sancho will be staying on with the club for at least another season. But that hasn’t stopped the English media from continuing to run stories to keep the saga going.
Now Borussia Dortmund head of licensed players department Sebastian Kehl has confirmed once again that Sancho will be staying with the Black and Yellows this season. Speaking on Borussia Dortmund’s virtual Asia tour, Kehl said:
"“Jadon is happy to stay. He has a contract until 2023. I see him on the pitch and he is very happy. Everyone is very happy to have him. He is going to be here for at least one more season.”"
Borussia Dortmund extended Sancho’s contract last summer, and are under no pressure to sell with three years remaining on his current deal. Manchester United were unwilling to meet their asking price of 120 million euros, and after the deadline of August 10 passed, the BVB bosses made the decision to call off the negotiations. Sancho has since played two friendly matches for Borussia Dortmund, and has also stated that he loves playing for the club.
With less than a month left before the new season gets underway, Kehl believes that this current Borussia Dortmund team is one of the best they have ever had, and he hopes that they can win some titles in the upcoming season.
"“This team is the best we had,” Kehl said. “We have a mixture of very good, young and mature players. Hopefully we can win titles in the next season because titles are what matter the most in the end.”"
Sancho and Borussia Dortmund will begin their Bundesliga campaign on September 19 as they go up against Borussia Mönchengladbach at the Signal Iduna Park.
