Borussia Dortmund youngster Sergio Gomez set for Huesca loan move

Highly rated Borussia Dortmund midfielder Sergio Gomez will be playing in La Liga for newly promoted side SD Huesca this season.
According to Ruhr Nachrichten, Sergio Gomez will return to his homeland for another loan spell with SD Huesca. The Borussia Dortmund youngster helped Huesca earn promotion from the second division of Spanish football last season, and the two sides have now decided to extend the loan spell for another year.
Gomez was a key player for Huesca last season, and made 37 appearances for the Aragon based club, scoring one goal and providing three assists. Huesca’s promotion to La Liga means that the 19 year old will get the chance to prove himself and show his quality against some of Spain’s top teams, including boyhood club FC Barcelona.
Gomez left Barcelona to join Borussia Dortmund in January 2018 for a fee of 3 million euros. He has only made three appearances for the Black and Yellows so far, and will be hoping that good performances in Spain will help him get his chance in the Bundesliga in the future. The versatile attacking midfielder has two years remaining on his Borussia Dortmund contract.
Gomez will become the ninth player to leave Borussia Dortmund this summer, either permanently or on loan. Mario Götze, who left Dortmund after his contract expired this summer, is said to be in talks to join AS Monaco on a free transfer. Marius Wolf and Felix Passlack, who spent last season away on loan, could also leave in the coming weeks.
