Borussia Dortmund likely won’t be making any massive splashes in the transfer market this summer but there is still some work to be done for Michael Zorc.

Borussia Dortmund’s squad is nearly complete as far as incoming transfers go, but Michael Zorc will likely still have a couple players he will look to unload as Dortmund head towards the start of the Bundesliga season. With all of Lucien Favre’s recent comments about squad depth, there likely won’t be too many departures but if offers come, there will be a couple players allowed to leave.

Kicker is reporting that both Marius Wolf and Felix Passlack are the players who will be allowed to leave should a suitable offer come in. Neither are going to bring in big transfer fees but the savings on shedding Wolf’s salary will be there if there’s a team willing to take him on. With the revenue dropping due to COVID shedding unnecessary salary is more important than ever.

The magazine is also suggesting Dortmund could look to bring in another central defender if necessary. With Dan-Axel Zagadou’s injury diagnosis still up in the air, signing a new centre-back could become a more realistic reality if he looks like he will be out longer term. Without Zagadou, Borussia Dortmund only have two natural central defenders in their first team, which won’t be enough if Favre is looking to really play a back four.

Borussia Dortmund fans look likely to be in line to see the first appearance of Reinier in Dortmund colors in Friday’s friendlies as he is reportedly set to feature. Although the appearance will likely be brief, it will be interesting to see where Favre deploys him and how quickly he can transition into the Dortmund squad.
