How Borussia Dortmund could line up this season with Erling Haaland and Jadon Sancho leading the line

Central Midfield: Julian Brandt
If Can plays at centre-back, it would make a lot of sense to have Julian Brandt partner Witsel in midfield. Brandt is at his best when operating from a slightly deeper role in midfield. Some of his best performances last season came when playing in the middle of the park alongside Witsel after Borussia Dortmund switched to a back three.
Brandt enjoys playing in the deeper role in midfield as it allows him to make things happen and create chances for his teammates. The defensive side of his game also developed well last season, and with that extra protection in defence, he can have the licence to make things happen going forward.
If Brandt is to have a good season, he must work on adding more consistency to his game, especially his forward passing and decision making in the final third of the pitch.
Otherwise, Lucien Favre could decide to go with Jude Bellingham, Thomas Delaney or Mahmoud Dahoud, who each bring different qualities to the middle of the park.
